Local Restaurant Holding Fundraiser for Injured Police Officer

Acadiana always comes together when tragedy strikes one of their own. One way we do that is through food. Our culture brings people and food together like no other, and this situation is no different.

Pizza Artista is stepping up in a big way when it comes to injured Lafayette Police Officer Brian Rozas with a statewide fundraiser.

On Thursday, August 25th -- If you eat lunch or dinner at any Louisiana Pizza Artista location and you mention Brian Rozas at checkout, 20% of the proceeds will be donated to the Lafayette Police Association for Brian and his family.

If you recall, Brian was injured a couple of weekends ago while he was on special patrol in downtown Lafayette. He was dragged nearly 100 yards by a vehicle that was attempting to flee police custody on Jefferson Street. Here's the story of the heroics of the Lafayette Police Department.
