Lafayette Police Arrest Naked Man in Thomas Park After Eyewitness Reports of Obscene Public Behavior

A naked man was arrested in Thomas Park on Monday morning (May 9) after Lafayette police officers responded to reports of obscene public behavior.

A video of a man pleasing himself circulated on social media morning as viewers were shocked to see such a shocking display of lewd behavior in public. The person who shared the video expressed his disgust, noting that children regularly play and roam in the area of Thomas Park where he was recording the naked man's obscene behavior.

We will not share the video here but Lafayette Police confirmed that officers were dispatched in reference to a naked male near the tennis courts at Thomas Park (300 Geraldine Drive).

When the officers arrived, they encountered a naked male suspect walking in the park near the tennis courts. Officers attempted to speak with the suspect, however, he was uncooperative and attempted to walk away from officers.

Officers subsequently subdued the naked male suspect, and he was placed under arrest. Officers then transported the male suspect to a local hospital for evaluation and treatment.

The male was arrested and issued a misdemeanor summons for obscenity and resisting an officer.
