The Toronto Raptors weren't given much of a shot coming into the 2019 NBA Finals against the Golden State Warriors but they silenced the naysayers in game one with a 118-109 win on Thursday.

What was most impressive about this win was that Toronto led basically wire to wire. The closest the Warriors would get in the second half was three points back at 10:38 at 90-87.

Pascal Siakam was the star of this game as his length, athletism, and versatility bothered HGolden State all night long. Siakam finished with 32 points on 14-17 shooting, 2-3 from three, eight rebounds, five assists, two blocks, and a steal. You could tell as this game wore on that his confidence was growing by the minute as he continued to play well. Consistent confidence has been something Siakam has been struggling with this entire post-season.

Other key contributors for Toronto were Marc Gasol with 20 points and seven rebounds. Fred VanVleet off the bench contributed 15 points, and Danny Green finally shook his shooting slump going 2-7 from distance pouring in 11.

Kawhi Leonard was solid but Siakam really stole the show, Leonard also looked slowed on defense by his existing knee injury. With that being said, he still put down 23 points, eight rebounds, and five assists.

The Raptors defense was exceptional this game as they forced the dubs into 16 turnovers and outscored them 24-17 on fastbreak points.

As for Golden State, Steph Curry led the way with 34 points, Klay Thomas poured in 21 and Draymond Green recorded a triple-double with 10 points, rebounds, and assists.

The splash brothers shot 7 for 17 from distance but they didn't get much help as the rest of the team went 5 for 16.

Game two will come your way Sunday at 7 p.m.
