One of the most beloved players in New Orleans Saints history has died. Tom Dempsey, who famously kicked a 63-yard-field goal in 1970 and set the NFL record for the longest field goal in history (until 2013), passed away on Saturday in New Orleans at age 73.

Dempsey had been living at the Lambeth House retirement home in New Orleans, which has been especially hard hit by the coronavirus, with 15 residents already dying during the health crisis. Dempsey reportedly caught the virus in March.
