Scott Police To Limit One On One Contact
The Chief of the Scott Police Department says that they are committed to safety, but they are also conscious of the issues everyone is facing with Coronavirus.
So many things in our world have changed, and the way we conduct business is one of those areas were there have been massive changes as people are trying to avoid contact with each other to prevent the spread of the Coronavirus and possible infection from Covid-19.
Scott Police Chief Chad Leger says that they will be making sure that they limit one on one contact.
If there is a situation of a crime, where the suspect is no longer at the scene, the crime should be reported as usual, but the officer assigned to the chase will be investigating the information from the caller via the phone.
If there is a case that needs immediate attention, you do the same thing you always do, and that's to dial 911. The business hours for the Scott Police Department will now be Monday through Thursday starting at 7:30 in the morning and going through 4:30 in the afternoon, and then on Fridays from 8 o'clock in the morning until noon.
Leger says the front office will still be open, but he is suggesting that instead of coming in, that you handle whatever business you have with the police department over the phone if that's possible.
He also adds another reminder that they are not doing any fingerprinting at this time, and the same goes for vehicle inspections.
You can contact the Scott Police Department for any non-emergencies by calling 337-233-3715.
