Search Underway for Shreveport City Marshall Who Fell Overboard Boat While on Vacation in Destin
Reports say that search efforts are underway for Shreveport City Marshal Charlie Caldwell Jr. after he fell overboard from a boat while vacationing in Destin, FL. The 55-year-old City Marshal reportedly was reaching into the water to retrieve his hat when he lost his footing and fell in somewhere near Crab Island.
The Coast Guard is reportedly working alongside both state and local responders in Florida in efforts to locate Charlie Caldwell, the City Marshal of Shreveport, LA.
According to reports, the incident occurred in Marler Bayou on Thursday evening which is northeast of Crab Island in Destin Florida.
The incident reportedly occurred as Caldwell as attempting to retrieve his hat that had fallen into the water. As he leaned over the left side of the boat, Caldwell lost hit footing and went overboard.
Caldwell reportedly did not resurface after going underwater.
The search continues for Caldwell with divers reportedly in the water.
