We may end our work week with some severe weather in the area.

Much of Acadiana is under a low to medium threat for severe weather starting late Friday afternoon.

If you have plans to be outdoors Friday afternoon or into the evening hours, you may want to plan to move them indoors.

As the storms move into our region we may see damaging winds, tornadoes, and large hail.

For those just north of Acadiana, you are under an enhanced threat of severe weather to end the work week.

If there's any good news to share here it appears that Saturday in Acadiana should be VERY NICE. So, make plans to enjoy your Saturday outdoors as Spring-Like weather will be in the forecast.

We will continue to monitor the conditions for Friday afternoon and I encourage you to download this station's mobile app.

As important information becomes available, we will share it with you On-Air and on the mobile app.

LOOK: See how much gasoline cost the year you started driving

To find out more about how has the price of gas changed throughout the years, Stacker ran the numbers on the cost of a gallon of gasoline for each of the last 84 years. Using data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics (released in April 2020), we analyzed the average price for a gallon of unleaded regular gasoline from 1976 to 2020 along with the Consumer Price Index (CPI) for unleaded regular gasoline from 1937 to 1976, including the absolute and inflation-adjusted prices for each year.

Read on to explore the cost of gas over time and rediscover just how much a gallon was when you first started driving.
