Severed Pig Head Left On Car At Lafayette Regional Airport Now Under A Police Investigation

The photo of a severed pig's head on a vehicle at the Lafayette Regional Airport made its way onto Facebook yesterday, and it left many of us asking, "Why?" Well now that incident is under investigation by the Lafayette Police Department. 

According to KATC-TV 3, a woman walking by the car saw it first and thought that it was a joke of sorts and not a real head. However, after getting closer to the vehicle with the pig's head on it, she and her family learned that this was indeed a real pig's head.

Greg Roberts, of the Lafayette Regional Airport, told KATC, "I am terribly dismayed that someone would do this, but it is now a police matter." The vehicle in which the head was placed on is a rental car and was parked in the short term parking lot of the airport.

Crpl. Paul Mouton of LPD says that if the person responsible for placing the pig's head on the car is found the most that they would be charged with would be criminal mischief, a misdemeanor.
