One Person Dead After Shooting At Bourgeois Park In Lafayette

There was a shooting of a person at the park across the street from Bourgeois Hall.

Lt. Billy Abrams says, via press release, that a man, who is not a student, was the victim in this morning's shooting.

The victim, 23-year-old John Mitchell Sinegal Jr was taken to a local hospital, but he was pronounced dead from the gunshot wound.

The shooting happened just after 2 o'clock this morning.

Bourgeois Park is adjacent to Blackham Coliseum.

Police are asking anyone who knows anything to call Lieutenant Darren Zachary of the ULPD at 337-296-4375.
