Shreveport Mass Shooting Leaves Several Dead and Injured

UPDATE: Another victim was found in the morning hours of 7/5/23 bringing the death total up to 4. Police Chief Wayne Smith also confirmed that the shooting was done by multiple males exchanging fire on each other.

A 4th of July celebration ended tragically when shots rang out in the MLK area.

A large house-party was happening in the area of Pearl Street and Jones Mabry Road. Shortly before midnight during the party, shots rang out causing a panic.

After the shooting was over, 10 people were taken to the hospital with injuries, and three were pronounced dead. One of the injured victims was listed as in very serious condition. Of all the injuries in this shooting, none of the victims were children.

Police and EMS had a hard time reaching the crime scene due to the amount of vehicles parked on the street.

It has been reported that the shooter was in attendance at the party in a field with many other partygoers. The police have yet to identify the shooter, but are actively investigating and interviewing witnesses.
