Louisiana Restaurant Expanding with Lafayette Location in Former Grub Burger Space

Foodies of Lafayette, make room on your plate as the Baton Rouge-based restaurant SoLou is set to open a new location in the city. This expansion, as reported by Adam Daigle of the Acadiana Advocate, will take place in the space formerly occupied by Grub Burger Bar, in front of Parc Lafayette near the River Ranch area.

SoLou, already a culinary hotspot at its original location on Perkins Road in Baton Rouge, is part of the Making Raving Fans Hospitality Group. The group, with a clear vision for growth, has announced plans to establish a presence along the Interstate 10 corridor, stretching from Houston to Jacksonville, Florida.

The restaurant is known for its contemporary approach to comfort food, offering an array of craft cocktails, wine, and beer. The setting is described as chic, promising a stylish and inviting atmosphere. Peter Sclafani, the CEO of Making Raving Fans Hospitality Group, expressed excitement about bringing SoLou to Lafayette.

He highlighted the transformation planned for the former Grub Burger Bar location, emphasizing that the redesign will reflect SoLou's unique identity and resonate with the local community. Sclafani remarked on the strategic location in River Ranch, likening it to the "50-yard line" of the area.

This transformation will be in the hands of DNA architects and Xdesign, Inc., the same teams that crafted the Baton Rouge outlet. The Lafayette location will offer a distinctive dining experience, serving lunch, dinner, and daily brunch in a unique environment.

Sclafani, who is also known for his role as the former co-owner and executive chef of Ruffino's and for purchasing Donald Link’s Cochon location in River Ranch to launch Ruffino's on the River in Lafayette, is no stranger to the local culinary scene.
