The owner of Surrogacy Escrow Account Management stole millions of dollars from her own company. These funds were intended to fund future parents' dreams of starting a family, but instead, they were allegedly used to "bankroll her music career as 'Dom,' a racy rap and R&B singer and music producer."

Intended parents thought that the funds they were storing in their SEAM accounts would be used to pay their surrogate and cover all medical bills. Shockingly, 10 million dollars was drained from these accounts by the owner of SEAM, leaving countless families and couples heartbroken.

WFAA reported that documents filed in Harris County say Dominique Side allegedly used the embezzled funds to travel, buy designer clothes, expensive cars, real estate, music education, and a SoHo House membership.

An attorney for the dozens of families says they are devastated by Side's actions, "Hearing what they’ve lost, it’s way beyond money, It’s their hopes, it’s their futures, it’s their families, and it’s just very devastating."

The FBI has a website to collect information from people who believe they were stolen. One victim shared that she felt 'lucky' that she only lost six thousand dollars while other families lost tens of thousands of dollars.

Some fear that no funds will remain to be found or replaced, but attorneys working on the case are hopeful.  Side has not appeared in court on more than one occasion and did not respond to a request for comment by WFAA. A voicemail message said she had been advised by her attorney not to respond while she was under federal investigation.
