I don’t any of us thought we would go through another year of cancellations because of the coronavirus pandemic. The St. Patrick’s Day Irish Channel Parade in the Irish Channel has been canceled for the second year in a row due to COVID-19.

Despite the years of decline and change in the “Channel,” the organization has survived and has the largest membership ever (fourteen hundred plus). The organization credits its survival to their deep, strong roots. Most people are aware of the pre-parade mass, followed by the parade up Magazine Street with hundreds of men in formal attire. Sadly, it will be missed by many for another year.

This year’s parade was scheduled for Saturday, March 13, 2021. The organizers announced today that it will be canceled.
