TMZ reports that according to a L.A. County Grand Jury, Suge Knight made death threats against respected Straight Outta Compton director F. Gary Gray, and has thus been indicted on felony criminal threats.

Suge allegedly made the threats, via text message, during the filming of the wildly popular biopic about N.W.A.'s rise to fame, but months before he ran over two men on set, killing one of them, Terry Carter. The Grand Jury indictment reads in part: "On or about August 8, 2014, Suge ... threatened to commit a crime which would result in death and great bodily injury to Felix Gary Gray."

The original date of the indictment was back in February. It's unclear why it took so long to arraign him. According to the site, sources close to Suge claim the murder indictment is falling apart and the cops are now out to get him.

Suge's current trial date is set for January 8, 2018.
