‘Swamp People’ Stars Joe & Tommy Unharmed In Five-Vehicle Pileup Near Arkansas
It was a close call for "Trapper Joe" & "Trigger Tommy" yesterday as the two 'Swamp People' stars were able to walk away from a five-vehicle pileup unharmed near the Arkansas-Louisiana state line. According to the Texarkana Gazette the two alligator hunters - real names Joe LaFont and Tommy Chauvin - had T-shirts and other show merch spill from their truck onto the highway, but luckily neither was hurt.
Police say maintenance work had reduced U.S. 71 to one lane and a line of four cars had stopped for a flagman directing traffic. Authorities say a fifth driver did not stop and smashed into a tractor-trailer, causing the pileup.

Ultimately, the highway was closed for a period of time as police and other authorities responded to the accident. Three others suffered serious injuries, but fortunately there were no fatalities as a result of the pileup according to Arkansas State Police. The wacky chemistry between Tommy & Joe is one of my favorite reasons to watch 'Swamp People' not to mention they are BIG fans of Hot 107.9, so we're glad they're OK.
