DOTD asks drivers to use caution in work zones.

As Tropical Storm Harvey continues to work it's way through Texas and Louisiana, we'll continue to monitor any road closures that may result from flooding.

The work, scheduled from 8 p.m. through 6 a.m. the following morning, will see the closure of Louisiana Avenue under the I-10 overpass.

There will be various lanes closures happening this week.

The heavy rains are here and there have already been some school closures announced and now we are starting to hear of road closures.

DOTD asks that drivers use caution when traveling through work zones.

The work is expected to take a month to complete.

If you plan on traveling I-10 between Baton Rouge and New Orleans the weekend of January 13, you may want to take an alternate route.

Officials with DOTD hope that everyone will drive with extra caution through construction zones.

Tom Carroll, Director of the Public Works Department, says the construction is happening in the 3300 block of Ambassador Caffery Pkwy.

The Department of Transportation and Development has announced the following REVISED road closures due to flooding in Acadiana.

The following areas are still reporting problems with high water in the roadway. The public is asked to avoid these areas until the water subsides and the streets are cleared of abandoned vehicles.
