Video surveillance shows a man suspected of robbing a teenager at gunpoint around 10:36pm on Saturday, April 29 near a business at the corner of Garfield and Johnston Street.

Shawn Calvit pulled the video footage where a man could be seen walking right behind his business on Johnston street.

We have him walking up Garfield to Johnston St. He walks up to kid and grabs money bag and puts gun in his face and says give me the bag. The teenager released the bag and ran. The thief was then caught on camera in back of my office on video.

According to Calvit, the teenager was parking cars during Festival International when he was allegedly held up at gunpoint.

A bearded black male wearing what looks to be a light colored hoodie, dark pants, tennis shoes and a hat is seen on video walking between a limousine bus and an office building as he looks into some sort of bag in his hand.

As far as we know, this incident is not related to the downtown shooting that claimed the life of one person and injured two others.

If you recognize the man in the video please call Lafayette Police at 232-TIPS.
