By now we all know about "The Dress," but what we do not know is who started the internet craze. Ellen recently had the family that owns the dress on her show, and they explained how a simple debate nearly broke the internet.

The whole thing started thanks to the impending wedding of a Scottish couple named Grace MacPhee and Keir Johnson.  Grace's mother was trying to pick out something to wear for the ceremony, so she sent Grace the picture of that dress.

Grace's mother stated she liked the third dress, the black and blue one, but when Grace saw the photo her mother sent, she told her mom that the dress was white and yellow---not black and blue.

From there they started to ask people within their community what color they saw the dress as and that led a friend to posting a photo of the dress on-line. The rest is history.

"The Dress" nearly shutdown the internet and many of us were left scratching our head and/or running to the eye doctor.

As always, Ellen surprised the newlyweds with amazing gifts and we were all relieved to find out that the dress really is black and blue.
