The Pandemic and Killer Bees Predicted in The Simpsons
Is the writer for The Simpsons clairvoyant? It seems like the animated sitcom knew exactly where the world was headed and had the story of America’s future told in the episodes. Fans of The Simpsons have voiced how amazing it is that an episode has been totally accurate in predicting the craziness we are dealing with in 2020.
The Simpsons season 4, episode 21, “Marge in Chains” from 1993, is about the flu from a Japanese factory named “The Osaka Flu” that caused a pandemic-style mass infection. The townspeople get anxious and go to the hospital and demand a cure. After the doctor tells them there isn’t a real cure, only placebos, the people assume he is talking about a miracle drug that is stored in a nearby truck. When they storm the truck they realize it contains a swarm of KILLER BEES, which attack them causing even more chaos. Sound familiar??
Naturally, with the coronavirus pandemic causing panic in our country and now Murder Hornets adding to the panic, it’s got people talking a lot about this episode of The Simpsons.
