Treasury Secretary: Stimulus Money Heading Out Tonight
You might want to check your bank account because it may be getting stimulated tonight.
U.S. Secretary of the Treasury Steven Mnuchin made the announcement on Twitter moments ago:
As you can see in the tweets, direct deposit payments may begin to arrive tonight as Mnuchin says his department has begun sending out the relief payments. He says paper checks will be mailed out starting on Wednesday.
If you don't get your money sooner rather than later, Mnuchin recommends you go to the same place that millions of people did last time: the Get My Payment button on the IRS website.
Earlier on Tuesday, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell blocked President Trump and the Democrats' push to increase the stimulus checks from $600 to $2000 a person.
