Vehicular Homicide Suspect Makes Court Appearance In Lafayette
The man accused of killing 28-year-old Brad Wedlock in a fiery crash earlier this month in Lafayette made an appearance in court this morning on previous charges.
24-year-old Joseph Dakota Richey was wheeled into the Lafayette Parish Courthouse on Monday morning to face a judge on drug charges, which was not related to the accident that took the life of UL student Brad Wedlock.
On April 5, Richey was charged in the fatal crash and faces the following charges:
- Misuse of Two-way Center Turn Lane
- Speeding, Reckless Operation
- Seatbelt Violation
- Possession of Drug Paraphernalia,
- Possession of Schedule I( marijuana)
- OWI (2nd Offense)
- Vehicular Homicide
When asked if he had anything to say to the Wedlock family, Richey said, "No, I would not." No court date has been assigned to Richey for the charges involved in the fatal crash.
