A video of the Hurricane Laura's aftermath in Pecan Island has been posted to Facebook, showing the highway covered with marsh.

In the video posted by Mary Hebert, you can see the tracks made through the marsh grass and mud that was left on the highway, with water remaining on some sections of the road.

I almost didn't recognize the area until they showed the old Pecan Island school. The amount of marsh that was deposited in front of the school is mind-boggling. Just seeing the road shows how dangerous conditions are in that area as, without a four-wheel drive, travel is probably limited.

We hope that property owners are able to recover quickly, and completely.
