West Monroe Man Put Gun to Son’s Head for Drinking Last Dr. Pepper
A West Monroe was arrested last week after he allegedly put a gun to his son's head after his son drank the last Dr. Pepper in their home.
According to the Ouachita Parish Sheriff's Office, the nine-year-old boy said that his father, Chad Kinnaird, had been drinking and had a loaded gun when he entered the home on December 28.
The boy said his dad got angry with him because he drank the last Dr. Pepper and proceeded to put the barrel of the gun against his head.
Police also spoke with Kinnaird's 11-year-old daughter, who was at the home at the time of the incident but did not witness it. She said her father admitted to her that he did in fact put the gun to her brother's head.
However, when deputies showed up to the residence in West Monroe, Kinnaird denied the allegations. He did allow deputies to enter his home and once in they found a .32 caliber handgun in a bedside nightstand.
Kinnaird was arrested and booked into the Ouachita Correctional Center on one count of Felony Violation of Protective Order and one count of Domestic Abuse Battery, Child Endangerment.
His bond was set at $125,000.
