World of Beer Bar and Kitchen in Lafayette Announces Permanent Closure
After three years of being a prominent part of the local community, World of Beer Bar and Kitchen has made the heart-wrenching decision to permanently close its doors. The news of the closure was confirmed by a notice posted on the establishment's front door, citing the cessation of business operations effective December 11.
The landscape of Lafayette's entertainment and dining scene has been rapidly evolving, marked by the recent openings of major establishments like Dave & Buster's and Topgolf. However, amidst this surge of development, the closure of familiar local businesses, such as World of Beer (WOB) and Ground Pat'i, has left residents pondering whether the influx of new attractions might be affecting existing establishments.
Brett Benoit an active member of the 'Closed in Acadiana' Facebook group shared that WOB would be closed as of Monday, December 11th 2023. After speaking with him to confirm he mentioned they posted a notice on the door for it's customers.
While no official statements have been made linking the closure of these businesses directly to the arrival of Dave & Buster's or Topgolf, the timing of these closures in proximity to the opening of these entertainment giants has left many pondering the correlation.
World of Beer's presence in Lafayette will undoubtedly be missed by many, as it provided not just a place to enjoy great food and drinks, but also served as a gathering spot for friends and families to create lasting memories.
As of now, there are no details available regarding the fate of the establishment's staff or whether there are plans for relocation or alternative ventures in the future. Patrons and well-wishers are left hoping for the best for the staff and reminiscing about the good times shared at World of Beer.
