Crowley Police are asking for the public's help as they search for a missing young boy.

UPDATE: Landon has been found safe according to Crowley authorities.

According to a Facebook post from his father, Landon Thibodeaux went missing in the Crowley area around 4 p.m. today.

Although an initial report from KLFY (it has since been corrected) described Landon as an 11-year-old boy, his mother posted on Facebook that her son was 14 and that she believes he was afraid of being in "big trouble" after an incident in school earlier today.

Landon's mother lives in Arizona and says her son lives with his grandparents.

Police Chief Jimmy Broussard says Landon was last seen wearing black and grey shorts, a black shirt, and flip-flops. According to the report from KLFY, police confirmed what the mother said noting that Landon was in "a little school scuffle" earlier in the day and was possibly scared of what he described as "old fashion(ed) punishment."

The authorities believe Landon is still in the Crowley area and urge anyone with any information on his whereabouts to contact Crowley Police.
