Youngsville Police Chief’s Son’s Truck Stolen from Downtown Lafayette
The son of the Youngsville Police chief was in Downtown Lafayette last night. When he got back to where he had parked, he found that his truck had been stolen.
Landon Boudreaux is the District 3 Representative at Lafayette Republican Parish Executive Committee, Vice President of the Lafayette Parish Library Board of Control, and son of Chief Rickey Boudreaux. He posted information about the theft to his social media page early this morning.
Boudreaux had parked on East Congress Street on the side of the Children's Museum of Acadiana while he was out last night and, when he returned to the parking area, his truck was gone.
"**PLEASE BE ON THE LOOKOUT AND SHARE**" is how he begins the post, pleading for any information surrounding the theft.
Last night, my truck was parked downtown Lafayette on the side of the childrens (SIC) museum and when I went to leave, my truck was stolen. - Landon Boudreaux, via Facebook
From the way he describes where he was parked: if you were Downtown last night near Parc Sans Souci, the Jefferson Street Parking Garage, and the Children's Museum of Acadiana, I am sure he'd appreciate any information you may have about the theft.
Though he doesn't give the year, make, or model of the truck, he does provide some identifying details.
It has an “In God We Trust” Thin Blue Line sticker and a “FUDS” sticker. It also has a distinct scratch on the front passenger side. If seen, please call 911. - Landon Boudreaux, via Facebook
From the photos that Boudreaux provided in the social media post, the truck appears to be a 4-door, late-model Toyota Tacoma, white in color. The scratch on the passenger's side of the vehicle is located on the front bumper fairing.
If you have any information about this crime, please get in touch with Boudreaux via his Facebook page or call the Lafayette Police Department's non-emergency number at 337-291-8600.
