I don't know why we are so afraid of our ages. I believe it was the great Satchel Paige that said " How old would you be if you didn't know how old you are", or something along those lines.

I totally agree with that statement and that mindset. I think we as a society get hung up on the numbers and that messes with our minds. Unfortunately, a big target of the growing older insecurity is the female gender. Every day you can find someone, somewhere, selling some thing that will take years off of your look. You don't need it. You're absolutely beautiful the way the Good Lord made you.

The shopping channel QVC recently surveyed 2,000 men and women and asked them what they found attractive in other people. Are you ready for the number one answer? Nope, it's not fair skin, a tight face, no wrinkles, large firm breasts, a shapely butt, or even a tattoo of Al Roker on your ankle. That most attractive quality was confidence.

That's the accessory that will enhance your outward appearance and inward feelings more than any other. Be confident in who you are. It's as simple as that.

This same study found that there was a connection between confidence and style. That stands to reason. If you have a stylish wardrobe or a nice sense of style then you're going to exude confidence.

The survey also determined that the point in your life, particularly a woman's life when she is at her most confident in herself, her style, and her physical well being is the age of 31.

So, while the 20 somethings are duck facing on social media and trying to find their own way in the world there is something to be said for the mature female who knows who she is and is proud of it.

The bottom line is this. Age is a made up measure of time. You are exactly as old as you believe you are. So, go act that way and you'll be amazed at how your mirror and many others will suddenly become your ardent admirer.
