With another school year winding down, another senior class is looking forward to taking that memorable walk up to the podium at their graduation within the next 30 days. This year the Class of 2012 will be closing one chapter, and beginning another. Every graduating class usually chooses a theme, as well as a song. But what will that one song be?

The Seniors of 2012 in Acadiana, and beyond, will have that one song that represents where they've been, and where they're going. A song that reflects their dreams as well as their thankfulness for the support from family and loved ones. The song will embody the close friendships, the memories and new doors that will soon be opening. Of course, the song will have to be appropriate, and ultimately agreed upon by all parties involved in choosing it. (Hopefully, your principal is way cool)

I can still remember my class song from my senior year at Comeaux High School. We were the class of 1999, so naturally Prince - '1999' was a great choice. Even though a lot of our class thought Prince's anthem was perfect, we ended up going with Green Day's 'Good Riddance (Time of Your Life)' - which was still a great choice, and actually one of the best graduation songs of all time.

So here we are with another year, and another graduating class. This weekend, I put together a list of songs that would be awesome for Seniors of 2012 to have as their class song. Live it up Class of 2012, you've made it this far, and you have a lot to be excited for in the future. Whether any of these get chosen as your class song or not, hopefully they will always hold incredible memories from your senior year and forever have a special place in your heart - and your iPod!

Nicki Minaj ft. Drake - Moment For Life

Moment For Life is all about working towards your dreams and finally getting it. That one moment when you know you've made it. In the song, Nicki doesn't ever want that moment to end, hence the title 'Moment For Life.' Hopefully you can make the feeling of graduation day last at least through the rest of the summer.

Wiz Khalifa ft. Snoop Dogg - Young, Wild and Free

The lyrics here are a little risqué, even in the clean version .. but hey, let's face it - kids are gonna do what kids do and the majority of most high school seniors can probably relate to what Wiz & Snoop are talking about. If not, they'll find out in college, lol. Young, Wild & Free (from high school) says it all.

Flo Rida - Good Feeling

Etta James' soulful vocal sample has been everywhere in the last year from the hottest clubs to commercials during the Super Bowl. The feeling she describes is what graduation is all about. It is the ultimate 'Good Feeling' and Flo Rida adds the perfect touch to this 2012 graduation anthem.

Bad Meets Evil ft. Bruno Mars - Lighters

"This one's for you and me, living out our dreams" - can you see all the lighters lit up in your head right now? OK, let's be honest, lighters will more than likely be prohibited at graduation this year, but this song speaks for itself. You've made it Class of 2012, put your iPhone lighter apps in the sky!

Jay Sean ft. Nicki Minaj - 2012

This totally reminds me of my senior year because it's a song with a graduation year blatantly in the song title. Other than Prince's 1999, (that my class passed on) this is the only other song I can think of that has a year as the title. And that year, is this year. It's a pretty dope song too.

Fun. ft. Janelle Monae - We Are Young

This song is the newest of the bunch, but it is also the most perfect of the group too. If it isn't the #1 graduation song this year, it will definitely be used from here on out for other graduating classes. 2012, you have the chance to own it first. Set the world on fire seniors, and have Fun. be the soundtrack to your senior year!

All of these would totally rock as a class song for the Seniors of 2012, but if all else fails and your principal ain't havin' it...  this list isn't half bad either. Congratulations again Seniors!
