The City of Carencro plans to dedicated their Veterans Memorial this Veterans' Day at city hall located at 210 East St. Peter Street.

Mayor Blenn Brasseaux has annouced they will hold a ceremony starting at 9:30 that morning.

Local veterans will be attending and participating in the event which includes a ribbon-cutting ceremoney.

The Carecro Veterans Memorial is comprised of a plaza that has engraved bricks featuring the names of military veterans.  There is also a section honoring fallen heroes.  Sixteen granite "soldiers" are there to mark those who were either killed or are missing in action.

Some 400 commemorative brick were sold for the memorial.

The event will be free and open to the public.
