Drake failed to pay respect to a veteran rapper and it’s costing him some cold hard cash.

Bay Area rap veteran Rappin’ 4-Tay recently received $100,000 from Drake’s record label, OVO Sound, because he was never given proper credit for lyrics used by the Toronto native, TMZ reports. Drizzy spit lines from 4-Tay’s 1994 track ‘Playaz Club’ on YG’s recent hit ‘Who Do You Love,’ yet no shout out was given on the track nor permission granted to use the lyrics.

On ‘Who Do You Love,’ which Drake is featured on, he raps: “I got a shorty named Texas Sin / She got a buddy named Young JB and now you know the deal / We turnt up in the studio late night / That’s why the songs that you hear comin’ real tight.”

A listen to 4-Tay’s ‘Playaz Club,’ finds the rapper with a similar verse: “I got a ho named Reel-to-Reel / She got a buddy named SP 12, now you know the deal / We gets freaky in the studio late night / That’s why the beats that you hear are coming real tight.”

It’s obvious the ‘Nothing Was the Same’ creator took the lyrics and presented them as his own. For those without prior knowledge of 4-Tay, they’d be clueless to know that Drizzy jacked his lines. Now he’s paid up the $100,000 to settle this minor beef once and for all. A fat check will do that sometimes.
