Frank Ocean is up to something.

On Wednesday, Rolling Stone published an extensive interview with James Blake in which the British musician calls Ocean's new album better than any of his previous material. There is still no release date for the long-awaited project from the Long Beach singer.

"I was more of a fan of him when I heard his newer music," Blake told Rolling Stone. "It's better. You grow, you improve, you nail a new message to the board. He's had time to mature. It's really cool to watch."

Ocean helped write two songs on Blake's latest album, The Colour in Anything.

"[Frank's] music was a huge influence on the way I was writing the record, the way I was writing melodies," Blake said.

The Rolling Stone article bounces around, describing how Blake dealt with the pressure of newfound stardom and touching on Blake's recent work with legendary producer Rick Rubin.

It's been four years since Frank Ocean dropped his debut album, Channel Orange, and fans of the 28-year-old singer are starving for more music. In fact, the impending album landed on XXL's list of 20 Most Anticipated Albums of 2016. But for Ocean followers, there's no need to panic -- if Blake's indication is correct, then the project will be well worth the wait.
