The curtain may have come down on Celebrity Theatres in Broussard, but the spotlight is now on what could be the next act for this prime property. Billeaud Companies, a key player in Broussard's development and economic landscape, has announced that it has acquired full ownership of the shuttered Celebrity Theatres location at 4620 US Highway 90 E.

Steven Hebert, the President and CEO of Billeaud Companies, thanked Celebrity Theatres for its contribution to local entertainment and economy. "We express our appreciation for the efforts, economic benefit, and entertainment value that Celebrity Theatres has brought to the area," he said. The property's strategic location makes it a valuable asset, not just for Billeaud Companies but for the Broussard community at large.

The company is now inviting the community to be a part of the property's redevelopment journey. An open "Request for Proposals (RFP)" process has been initiated to encourage business owners, contractors, architects, and developers to submit their ideas for the property. Paul Eason, the Chairman of the Board of Billeaud Companies, stated, "There was no hesitation in the decision that Billeaud Companies needed to be the owner and redeveloper of this property that is so central to the Broussard community and our company."

The property's future seems to align well with the city's "Envision Broussard" project, aimed at enhancing the streetscape and walkability of the area. This makes the timing for redevelopment ideal, with a keen eye toward multi-use facilities that may include retail spaces, restaurants, and various other forms of businesses.

Here's your chance, Broussard residents and business stakeholders: what do you envision for this prominent space? Given the property's history as a community hub for nearly two decades, public input is not just welcomed—it's important to continue the growth that we are seeing in the Broussard-Youngsville area.
