The U.N. World Meteorological Organization has blocked a name from the upcoming list of hurricane names.

According to a KATC, the name Isis—the name of an ancient goddess of Egypt—has been removed from the list of scheduled names. The name was removed and replaced with the name Ivette after WMO deemed it inappropriate—due to the rise of the militant group "Isis," the Islamic State of Iraq and Greater Syria.

Before being removed, Isis was on the list of names for hurricanes in the eastern North Pacific in 2016.
