Jet Coffee to Open Fourth Location on Johnston St. in Midtown Lafayette

Earlier this week on Tuesday, July 18th Johnston Street Java announced it would be permanently closing its doors on August 4th, 2023, and that the owners had decided to retire.

The local community shared their heartfelt best wishes to the owners in the comment section of our original post while others began to speculate on what might take its place. We certainly had our fair share of suspicions but at the time we were not able to get solid confirmation on who would be taking over this prime location

To quote Lizzo "All the Rumors are True" Jet Coffee announced they will be opening a 4th location located at 3123 Johnston St, Lafayette, LA 70503 the formerly beloved Johnston Street Java.

Jet Coffee shared a post on social media confirming the rumors that have been swirling through town since Johnston Street Java announced their retirement from the industry.

In the caption on their post they bid Mrs. Marie, the owner of JSJ, one last farewell and share that they are "so excited for Ms. Marie to enjoy her retirement and so honored she has chosen us to pick up where Johnston Street Java has left off".

We are excited to see Jet Coffee thrive in this midtown location right across the street from Judice Inn. It does appear like they will be making improvements to the building and drive-thru area to better serve its customers. Before long we will be in that drive-thru line ordering a Cloud 9.
