‘Adult King Cake’ Is A Very Real Thing—And You Need One In Your Life This Mardi Gras Season

Adult King Cake is a very real thing, and if you haven't already enjoyed one, it needs to be on your Mardi Gras bucket list.

The 'King Cake Shake' is a speciality menu item available at Charcoal's Gourmet Burger Bar on Magazine St. in New Orleans. What makes this dessert different than other King Cake flavored milkshakes is one special ingredient—alcohol.

If you can't wait until your next NOLA trip, Indulge (located in Parc Lafayette) can satisfy your King Cake Shake fix—minus the adult part—but still delicious, nonetheless. Also be sure to try out their other Mardi Gras themed treats.

If you're really adventurous, you can try to make it at home by following the recipe. If you're unsure about any ingredients, I'm sure you can just add more colored sugar.
