Popular local mexican restaurant, La Rumba in Scott, has announced its impending closure set for October 31st, 2023. Located at 308 LA-93 N, Scott, LA 70583, the restaurant has been a top spot for many south Louisiana residents over the years.

A statement released on the La Rumba Facebook page clarified, “As of October 31st, 2023, La Rumba Scott will no longer be open. Any restaurant that will operate in the future at 308 LA-93 N, Scott, LA 70583, is not affiliated with La Rumba.” This official announcement was followed by rampant rumors about the owners branching out into separate ventures. However, no further information on this topic has been verified.

The official La Rumba Facebook account provided some insights into the reasons behind the closure, posting, “Thank you we try to renew lease not possible with the price and other things!” This suggests potential disagreements or challenges related to the lease renewal of the property.

Local patrons have expressed their sadness and nostalgia upon hearing the news. Lauren mentioned she was "lucky to eat one more time tonight," enjoying a Chicken enchilada dinner. Brandi expressed hope, saying, “Aww hopefully y’all can find another spot in the area.” Carla shared her disappointment, stating, “We are so sorry to hear that! We will go soon to say our goodbyes,” while Jennifer lamented, “Awe! My kiddos will be so sad!!” Sharon, a regular at the establishment, revealed, “No!! We go every Tuesday! We will miss y’all!”

As of now, there has been no official word on another La Rumba location or its future endeavors. Stay tuned for further updates as more information becomes available.
