Macklemore and Ryan Lewis came into the MTV Video Music Awards tied with Justin Timberlake for the most nominations -- six for each. The 'Can't Hold Us' rapper already took half of his nominations.

The platinum-selling duo won two Moonmen for 'Can't Hold Us.' These were for Best Hip-Hop Video and Best Cinematography. The former was particularly impressive because of how stacked the category was; Kendrick Lamar, A$AP Rocky, Drake and J. Cole were also competing for that award.

Macklemore & Ryan Lewis also won for Best Video With a Social Message for 'Same Love.' Macklemore noted the video wasn't just pro-gay rights, but also pro-human rights.
