By the time he was a teenager Markell Gregoire faced more adversity than most of us will see in a lifetime—and even though he lost his battle with cancer, he is still "unstoppable."

Markell and I are only separated by a short drive between our respective hometowns of Lafayette and New Iberia, but I had the pleasure of meeting him in Memphis, while touring the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital back in January of 2014.

The first thing that jumped out at me about Markell was his remarkable personality. I mean, here we have a kid with a story filled with ups that would make anyone jealous and downs that would make your first world problems looks like paradise—yet he had an attitude about life that was more positive than 95% of the people we interact with on a daily basis.

It was no wonder that he has professional athletes and celebrities like Adam Sandler on speed dial.

About nine months after meeting Markell, I ran across an amazing video above produced by SoulPancake (the same folks who did Kid President, and many other great clips) that really does a good job of documenting Markell's journey, and telling his amazing story.

Markell passed away February 13, 2016 after a long six year battle with cancer, but just because he is gone doesn't mean his story won't inspire others to get the most out of life. From being a personal friend of the Saints to former President Bill Clinton, Markell was literally "the man."

Hopefully his story will inspire you to live your life to the fullest and be just as "unstoppable" as Markell in all your endeavors.

But no matter what, he'll always be cooler. ;)
