According to the Washington Post, data was collected from 2001 to 2010 from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. In the Map above it shows state by state the most unique causes of death.

Louisiana's most unique way to die is by Syphilis with only 22 deaths from 2001 to 2010.

Here are some of the states that are closest to us:

Alabama: Accidental discharge of firearms (348 deaths)

Arkansas: Discharge of firearms (147 deaths)

Mississippi: Other and unspecified malignant neoplasms of lymphoid, hematopoietic and related tissue. (18 deaths)

Texas:Tuberculosis. (679 deaths)
