In light of the horrible events this morning where two children were killed, Trick-or-treating in Breaux Bridge tonight has been canceled in some parts of town.

From our TV partners at KATC TV 3: According to St. Martin Parish Schools Superintendent Lottie Beebe, Breaux Bridge Mayor Jack Dale Delhomme has ordered that trick-or-treating is canceled west of Bayou Teche and west of City Hall near the National Guard Armory building. The cancellation includes the following streets: Malcolm Street, Alva Drive, Courville Street and Begnaud Street. Trick-or-treating will continue on the east side of the Bayou Teche.

A candlelight vigil has also been scheduled for tonight at 8:30 p.m. at Judge Carl Williams Park on West Bridge Street.
