One of the biggest breakups of 2012 was the split between animal print pant wearing party rockers Red Foo and Sky Blu of LMFAO. In September the tag team (who are actually uncle and nephew) announced their hiatus, citing their intentions to focus on separate solo projects.

Now that they have each released their debut solo singles, we are scratching our heads as to why they bothered splitting up in the first place.

First out of the solo party rock gate was Red Foo with a timely Dec. 28th release of 'Bring Out The Bottles.' The song was a New Year's Eve no-brainer for DJs and party rockers alike. Foo even did a custom countdown version, encouraging DJs to use it to bring in 2013.

Then, Sky Blu made his solo debut by dropping 'Pop Bottles' shortly after the new year. In the fall, Sky told MTV about his new music collective, Big Bad University: "I created my own university. Basically I grew up people always telling me what I can and can’t do. I created a university for dreamers. We have a lot of musical artists in there and DJs and everybody in there is about to release a big song." Big Bad vocalist Mark Rosas is featured on Sky's bottle poppin' debut.

So, both of these songs are about partying. Both of these songs reference "bottles." BOTH OF THESE SONGS SOUND JUST LIKE LFMAO!

Obviously, these two didn't break up over artistic differences.

I may be a little prognostic here, but I'm not convinced that these two will see the same success individually, as they did as a zebra-striped sleeveless tandem. It's almost as if LMFAO was their Captain Planet, and instead of elements like wind, water and earth - their powers were heightened by the combination of Red Foo's 'big ass fro,' and Sky Blu's collection of aggravating neon graphic tees.

I guess I can just suck it up and expect to hear double the LMFAO in 2013 and count my blessings that Psy is only one person.
