“The Lafayette Food Junkie Show,” which has been airing from 6:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. on Sunday nights here on Newstalk 96.5 KPEL, has given Lafayette and the Acadiana area its own show dedicated to the food we all love to enjoy and talk about since November of 2013!

On this week’s show, Tiffiany Decou, the “Lafayette Food Junkie,” and Chef Zack Doise with Phares’ Restaurant spent the show talking about everything from cotton candy fried chicken to one of Tiffiany’s pet peeves to what Lafayette/Acadiana area restaurants will be open on Thanksgiving Day.

While dining out in New Orleans, Tiffiany says she sat next to two tables who each ordered the same thing at their respective tables. As someone who enjoys trying new things while dining out, she says it’s a pet peeve of hers to see everyone ordering the same thing as opposed to ordering something out of the ordinary.

With Thanksgiving right around the corner, Tiffiany and Chef Zack talked everything Thanksgiving. Potato salad vs. mashed potatoes, cornbread vs. bread stuffing and North Louisiana vs. South Louisiana (how each section celebrates). Zack, as a Chef, also talked about what his favorite thing about Thanksgiving is.

Below is a list of restaurants that will be open on Thanksgiving Day:

  • Picadilly in Lafayette
  • Copeland’s in Lafayette
  • Nash’s Restaurant in Broussard
  • Crawfish Town in Henderson
  • Ruth’s Chris Steak House in Lafayette
  • Little Big Cup in Arnaudville
