Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Broussard became the recent target of an act of vandalism. The parish is now reaching out to the community, seeking assistance in identifying and locating the culprits behind the incident.

The defacement took place on October 9 around 9:20 p.m. The statue of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, a significant religious symbol stationed prominently in front of the Church, was damaged by unknown individuals. Alongside the damage to the church's statue, several nearby commercial establishments also fell victim to vandalism during the same timeframe.

The Broussard Police Department is actively investigating the incident. They urge anyone with information, whether it be security footage, eyewitness accounts, or other details, to come forward. Residents and businesses in the vicinity should also review any surveillance footage they might have from the night of October 9.

With the community's assistance, the authorities aim to ensure that those responsible face the consequences of their actions and prevent further incidents of this nature in the future.

Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the Broussard Police Department immediately.
