They've started calling Louisiana "Hollywood South" and we can probably all think of several movies that have been filmed here over the last ten years. But, even with all the publicity, you'd still be surprised to find out just how many films were created in the Bayou State.

Here's seven that blew our minds.

    21 Jump Street

    The filmmakers took disguise the city off Metairie, Louisiana during the filming of 21 Jump Street to make it look like a generic city. They even replaced distinctive street signs and digitally removed billboards from local businesses.

    Battle: Los Angeles

    Although the movie takes place in Los Angeles, California, filming occurred from September 2009 to December 2009 in Shreveport and Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

    Fantastic Four (2015)

    Principal photography for Fantastic Four lasted 72 days at the Celtic Media Centre in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. The movie was orginially set to be filmed in Vancouver, Canada, but was moved to Louisiana due to the state's film production tax incentives.

    G.I. Joe: Retaliation

    Fort Pike in Louisiana stood in for of Fort Sumter in South Carolina during the filming of G.I. Joe: Retaliation and many New Orleans warehouses were also used as sound stages during the filming. On November 22, 2011 a crew member died during a set change in one of the New Orleans warehouses.

    This time-travel movie starring Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Bruce Willis and Emily Blunt began filming in Louisiana on January 24, 2011.

    Twilight Saga: Break Dawn Part 2

    Filming for the Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 2 began on November 1, 2010 and wrapped on April 15, 2011. The movie was filmed on location in Baton Rouge and New Orleans as well as at the Raleigh Studios in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

    Jurassic World

    Filming for Jurassic World began in Honolulu, Hawaii on April 10, 2014, but moved to Louisiana for 11 weeks of shooting. Scenes were filmed at the abandoned Six Flags, the Louis Armstrong International Airport, the Audubon Zoo, and the Big Easy Studios inside the NASA Complex in New Orleans, as well as swamp scenes in Slidell, Louisiana.
