The widow of a fallen soldier told GMA that President Trump did indeed tell her that her husband knew "what he signed up for."

Speaking with Good Morning America Myeshia Johnson said her conversation with the president made her "cry even worse," as she is dealing with the loss of her husband, Sgt. La David Johnson.

After much debate on what was said during the phone call, the Gold Star widow revealed that Trump said her husband

knew what he signed up for, but it hurts anyways. And it made me cry. I was very angry at the tone of his voice, and how he said it.

Even though that part of the conversation made headlines last week, Johnson revealed that hearing the president stumble to remember her husband's name was the part of the call that hurt her the worst.

If my husband is out here fighting for our country and he risked his life for our country, why can’t you remember his name?

Trump took to Twitter immediately after the interview aired to dispute Johnson's description of their conversation.

Beyond the controversy over the phone call with President Donald Trump, the Gold Star widow says there are numerous questions surrounding the death of her husband from details on what led to his death in Niger to why she wasn't able to see his remains.
