A new Microsoft ad, set to air during this year's Super Bowl, praises technology and of it's ability to empower. The commercial is narrated by, and stars former New Orleans Saint player Steve Gleason.

Gleason will forever be known for his blocked kick against the Atlanta Falcons when the Superdome reopened after Hurricane Katrina. The storm ravaged the city, but that one play marked the return of a team, and an entire region.

Unfortunately, years after Gleason came around the edge to make that historical play, he was diagnosed with ALS, more commonly known as Lou Gherig's disease. It's an ugly disease that takes over the human body, one area at a time until it inevitably takes the person's life.

Gleason has stood up in the face of this life-threatening disease, and through his foundation 'No White Flags', the former NFL player has refused to let it get in the way of him living life to the fullest.

Products from Microsoft, like Surface, makes sure that Steve never misses a beat. Check out an extended video, highlighting technology, and how it has empowered Steve Gleason to get the most out of his life.

From refusing to let a disease get in the way of being an amazing father, to climbing to the top of mountains, Steve Gleason has truly been an inspiration to us all.
