The University of Louisiana at Lafayette has announced changes to their upcoming graduation ceremonies in lieu of a Cajun's bowl appearance on the same day as graduation, Dec. 17th. It has been announced that the university will forgo the general assembly, which usually starts at 9:00 a.m. and involves all graduates and a keynote speaker.Rather than have commencement speeches and ceremonies throughout the day at the Cajundome and Cajundome Convention Center, the university has announced  all eight colleges will hold graduation ceremonies at 9:00 a.m. and 11:30 a.m.

By making such changes, the university says this will allow those students who are graduating on Dec.17th and wish to attend the New Orelans Bowl that evening an ample amount of time to drive to the Crescent City. The bowl game starts at 8pm on Dec. 17th inside the Mercedes-Benz Superdome.
