UPDATE: Cyclist Dies After Being Fatally Struck By Vehicle On Evangeline Thruway
A local female cyclist has been transported to a local hospital with serious injuries after being hit by another vehicle on the Evangeline Thruway.
UPDATE
According to reporting from KLFY, the bicyclist that was hit on Evangeline Thruway has died.
ORIGINAL STORY
KFLY and KATC are reporting that the accident took place at approximately 8:30 p.m. on NE Evangeline Thruway at Castille Avenue. Lafayette Police Spokesperson Cpt. Bridgette Dugas did not identify the victim but said the driver remained on the scene to answer questions.
The incident is currently under investigation.
