NOLA mainstay and bounce music purveyor Big Freedia has been ordered to stay in a halfway house until her sentencing in August for federal theft.

Back in March of this year, the rapper and reality star pled guilty to the theft of nearly $35,000 in federal housing voucher money. While she became a rising figure in NOLA bounce, she admitted to fraudulently accepting Section 8 vouchers over the past two years. Freedia must now live in a halfway house and submit to substance abuse testing according to The New Orleans Advocate. This new ruling in her case comes as she tested positive for marijuanna in April and May.

Big Freedia, real name Freddie Ross Jr., went from regional fame to national recognition in the music world over the past few years with twerk-inducing songs like "Duffy" and "Na Who Mad". In 2013, she scored her own reality show on Fuse called Big Freedia: Queen of Bounce and earlier this year, her voice was sampled on Beyonce's Lemonade lead single, "Formation." Freedia is set to be sentenced on Aug. 11.
