Boston Police Investigating Suspicious Backpacks Left Near Boston Marathon Finish Line [UPDATE]
The Boston Police and a bomb squad are investigating two unattended backpacks that were left near the finish line of The Boston Marathon. This comes on the day the city recognized the one-year anniversary of the Boston bombings. The bombings occurred during the 2013 Boston Marathon in which three people were killed and hundreds more injured.
WBZ-TV reports that someone acting in a strange manner was screaming "Boston Strong" near the area where the backpacks were left unattended. Witnesses told the station that the person was barefoot, wearing a long black veil and acting strange.
A person was taken into custody by police for questioning. The race is scheduled to take place Monday April 21st.
UPDATE: Boston Police & the bomb squad have detonated the two backpacks found Tuesday as a precaution.
